Acer expects its desktop shipments to see growth on year, as it gains customers from the DIY market, according to Scott Lin, president of Acer Taiwan.<\/p>\n
\nLin pointed out that the proportion of the DIY segment in the total desktop PC market dropped from 60-70% to around 50% in 2008, and the proportion continues to be eaten into by pre-built systems.
