Microsoft Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 Finalized
Microsoft has wrapped up development of two major products, Windows Server 2008 and the Service Pack 1 update to Windows Vista, CEO Steve Ballmer told financial analysts Monday. “Both products have released to manufacturing today, which is good news,” Ballmer said.
“We think we are turning the corner in terms of enterprise deployment, and Service Pack 1 will be a huge boon,” Ballmer said. Microsoft will begin distributing Vista SP1 via Windows Update in mid-March, according to a Microsoft blog post on Monday. Microsoft is due to formally launch Windows Server 2008 on February 27 at an event in Los Angeles.
AMD to showcase triple-core CPUs at CeBIT 2008
AMD expects to launch its triple-core Phenom 8400 and 8600 at CeBIT 2008 along with its low-power quad-core Phenom 9100e, however the quad-core Phenom 9700 and 9900 CPUs, which were originally scheduled to launch at the same time, will be delayed for both launch and showcase to a later time, according to sources at motherboard makers. The Phenom 9700 and 9900 will be launched in the second quarter of 2008.
The delay of Phenom 9700 and 9900 is due to the TLB bug and AMD is still working to raise core frequencies. The company will launch Phenom 9550 and 9650 in the second quarter this year. Other than Phenom 9900, whose launch date is not yet set, all other CPUs are currently scheduled to launch at Computex 2008 in early June. AMD will also delay the launch of its second wave triple-core Phenom 8700, 8650 and 8450 CPUs by a month, from their original schedule in early second quarter. Phenom 8700, 9700 and 9900 will be renamed to Phenom 8750, 9750 and 9950 by the time they are officially launched, noted the sources.

Mark Zuckerberg: Not Ready For Prime Time?
Mark Zuckerberg is 23 years old. He founded the social networking site Facebook while he was still in college. He’s made the mistake most bright people make when one of their notions becomes wildly popular overnight: He’s thinks it has nothing to do with luck, or being in the right place at the right time. Unchastened by his foolhardy foray into Big Brother spying on his customers with the Beacon widget, he continues to behave like what he is: an inexperienced businessman in charge of a suddenly
Microsoft Has $45B Lying Around. Yahoo!
