Hop-on’s HOP2001: A CDMA/GSM Dual WM6Pro Handset

The dual-mode HOP2001 from Hop-on is a Windows Mobile 6 Pro phone from with both a CDMA and GSM transceivers, and according to the company’s press release, is intended for use in North America on AT&T and Verizon Wireless networks. The HOP2001 has an impressive feature set including Wi-Fi, a 3MP camera, built-in GPS and a microSD card slot. We’re still a bit unclear on how the handset will be sold, but we’ll keep you posted.

Forbes: Dell, Quanta “Cooking Up” Smartphone

It’s been eight months since Dell discontinued its Axim line of Windows Mobile PDAs, and in that time there have been several rumors regarding an upcoming smartphone from the computer giant, rumors that were given new life in a recent Forbes article. Near the end of the story, it is reported that Dell and Quanta are rumored to be working on a smartphone for release “early next year.”
