Google Wave, a product that promises to revolutionize online communication, will go out to about 100,000 beta testers Wednesday. The Web application from Google Inc. combines elements of e-mail, chat, Wiki documents, blogs and photo-sharing sites to create a form of Internet communication called a “hosted conversation,” or a “wave.” Google demonstrated Wave at the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco, California, in May. The closed group of beta testers will help Google fish bugs out of the application before a public release by the end of the year, according to the Google Wave Web site.

September 29 News from Around the Web

NZXT Beta EVO Case Review @ Hi Tech Legion and other reviews from around the web can be found by visiting our forums!

“Computer cases seem to quickly be heading in the direction of this philosophy, with more and more wild, interesting looking case designs. The question is, however, are these exotic cases meeting all of the functional needs that we have for the computer case, especially when considering the higher costs of cases these days. When evaluating the usefulness of a case, performance and features need to take precedent or at least be on even playing field with the appearance, unless of course the point of the system is to be radically unique, but then it wouldn't be mainstream. NZXT has always been able to develop good case designs while keeping the look interesting, but one of their less expensive creations really has caught a lot of people's eyes, based on price and what it has to offer.
The NZXT Beta EVO is a well constructed case that offers exceptional cooling features for the money. The NZXT Beta EVO takes the functionality of the case back into the forefront, with tool less drive installations and excellent cable management access holes. The interior space is quite roomy for the price point and exterior size, even being capable of holding two full size, dual expansion slot graphics cards.”

NVIDIA DX11 Card GT300 – Q4 ’09?

With ATI's release of the 5870 DX11 cards, everyone is looking to NVIDIA for their answer. Looks like it could be coming in Q4 with the GT300. Will it beat out the best of ATI?

November is looking to be an exciting month as we hear rumblings of a launch of AMD's Radeon HD 5850 X2 and HD 5870 X2. In fact almost all of the news lately has been about AMD's new DX11 40nm GPU. The question on everyone's minds was the same – Where is NVIDIA?

We are happy to report that we were correct in our earlier predictions that the GT300 is farther along than many other sites were predicting. We hear that NVIDIA has made an official statement on the state of the GT300 yields.

It seems that the GT300 has been taped out long ago and that yields are fine. This statement comes from a senior product manager for the GT300, but we also have this from our own sources [who have been saying this all along].
