The Frostbite 2 Game Engine For The Battlefield Series Might Go DirectX 11

At Siggraph Johan Andersson, Rendering Architect at DICE, talked about the latest version of the Frostbite engine used for Battlefield games. In his presentation Andersson also talks about Compute Shader in DirectX 11 and how Deferred Shading is done using Compute Shader. However, the implementation in Frostbite 2 has only been experimental so far.

There will be two versions of the Frostbite Engine: Version 1.x is used for Battlefield: Bad Company 1, Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It supports Xbox 360, PS3 and DirectX 10. WPA Wi-Fi encryption can be cracked in under a minute

Japanese researchers say they can crack the second generation of Wi-Fi security within a minute, according to an article on yahoo.com. WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) was thought to be secure, and has been used since the first generation of Wi-Fi security, WEP, was found to be crackable. This means that you should use the third generation of wireless security standards – WPA2.

The previous method of attacking WPA devices took up to 15 minutes to be successful, and didn't always work. The new method is said to work on far more devices and, obviously, much more quickly. However, as with the old attack, the new one only works on WPA devices that use the TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) algorithm, which is a setting in your router and device setup. WPA devices that use the newer AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm, plus devices that use WPA2 — the third generation of wireless security standards — are still safe for now.

Analysts have said the cuts will pressure Nintendo Co Ltd to lower the price of its best-selling Wii console, which retails for $249, but for now the company is standing firm. “We don't have such a plan,” Nintendo spokesman Yasuhiro Minagawa said when asked about a price cut. Among this generation of game consoles, the Xbox is No. 2 in the United States behind the Wii. But U.S. sales of the Xbox are up 17 percent this year, the only console to show growth.

ViewSonic’s PJD2121 Is Company’s Smallest DLP Projector Ever

One could say the pico projector boom is over, and now we’re seeing a slow trickle of second-gen devices from companies that bothered to stick with the niche. Without a doubt, these expensive, tiny devices never really took off in the mainstream market, but ViewSonic is hoping to catch some eyes with two new ones in its increasingly small range. First we’ve got the PJD2121, which goes down as the company’s smallest DLP projector to date. Weighing just 2.2 lbs., this device packs a DLP engine with BrilliantColor

Runco’s Latest Projectors Put Your BMW Purchase In Jeopardy

When a company spells “Extreme” as “Xtreme,” it generally means that whatever product has said label is underwhelming and over-hyped. Not so with Runco’s latest, which deserve every bit of “Xtremeness” given to them. The new VX-33i and VX-33d projectors are less like AV toys and more like investments, with prices so high that you’ll probably not even believe us. Designed for the most affluent of home theater owners, these new beamers promise extraordinary brightness and are specially designed to work with “cinema-sized
