Survey shows six in 10 companies plan to skip Windows 7
Six in 10 companies in a survey plan to skip the purchase of Microsoft Corp's Windows 7 computer operating system, many of them to pinch pennies and others over concern about compatibility with their existing applications. Windows 7 will be released October 22, but has already garnered good reviews, in contrast to its disappointing current version, Windows Vista.
ScriptLogic Corp, which provides help to companies in managing their Microsoft Windows-based networks, sent out 20,000 surveys to information technology administrators to learn the state of the market. Many companies have rejected Windows Vista as unstable. For example, the chip maker Intel Corp, Microsoft's long- time partner in producing personal computers, has stayed with the older XP system. The survey found about 60 percent of those surveyed have no plans to deploy Windows 7, 34 percent will deploy it by the end of 2010 and only 5.4 percent will deploy by year's end. Forty-two percent said their biggest reason for avoiding Windows 7 was a “lack of time and resources.”

Texting Teen Tumbles Down Manhole
In a development that’s almost too silly to be true, a New York City teenage girl evidently fell down an open manhole as she walked down the street, distracted because she was…texting. MyFOX NY reports Alexa Longueira was strolling down a Staten Island sidewalk and was fiddling with her phone, preparing to send a text, when she disappeared down an open sewer access duct. Longueira is said to have suffered mild cuts and bruises, but she should be just fine. Workers told the girl’s mother they left the
Nikon Coolpix L100 Mega Zoom Camera Review
Don’t be fooled by the Nikon Coolpix L100’s DSLR-like looks. Although the L100 looks like a serious camera that could compete with the functions of a DSLR, it’s really a relatively simple point-and-shoot with a wide angle 15x zoom lens as well as image stabilization, a 3-inch LCD, and a high speed burst shooting mode of 13fps that surpasses that of many cameras. The L100 is part of Nikon’s Life series of digital cameras that are known for their simple and easy to use functions. As Nikon describes it, the Life

Right away you can start getting a feel of what you can do with this case without worrying about what has already been done.
