QNAP not only provides a respectable array of NAS devices (as we saw in own testing), but it also looks out for its customers. In fact, we can’t think of another company that issues as many firmware updates and provides more new features to existing owners than QNAP.Today, the company is doling out another monumental update with its Version 3.1 firmware. The new NAS management software adds a few rather significant new features including virtual disk support (up to 8 virtual disks via iSCSI expansion over the
Kindle 2 Drops To $299, Competition Looming
For many, $359 is just too much to pay for an e-book reader. Even if that does include unlimited Sprint connectivity to download new titles practically anywhere. To that end, Amazon has whacked a full $60 off of the price of its Kindle 2 just half a year after it was first introduced in New York City. The price drop could be significant, as it lowers the entry price to $299 — just a dollar under that “magical” $300 mark.If you’ll recall, Amazon had no problem selling through stock of its original Kindle, but

One of the causes of erroneously sent emails is the human at the end of the Send button. This is why Gmail Labs’ Undo Send feature is helpful. Of course, that’s Gmail. What about the mistakes we humans make in the workplace? Most commonly, the biggest mistake is usually just sending an email to the wrong people. In the national survey, 78% admitted to such an error. Only 78%? We certainly would admit to such an error. The survey, done by an independent research firm on the behalf of The Creative Group,

Sprint Offers $0.99 Netbook With 2-Yr. Data Plan
You knew it would happen at some point, didn’t you? With mobile operators offering subsidized netbooks in order to advance adoption of mobile broadband services, Sprint has become the first of the US-based carriers to reach all the way down to free. Or almost free, if we’re being precise. While AT&T and Verizon Wireless currently offer the HP-Compaq Mini 110c for $199 with a 2-year data plan, Sprint has teamed up with Best Buy in order to sell the machine for just $0.99 with a 2-year agreement on the company’s
Settlement Ends Online Royalty Crisis
There’s good news for Internet radio sites such as Pandora. A group of webcasters have reached an agreement with SoundExchange, the organization that collects royalties for musicians and record companies, over royalty payments for playing music online. The dispute has been going on for two and a half years and has threatened to silence the Internet radio business. NVIDIA 40nm desktop OEM video cards show up on NVIDIA.com
It looks like the rumors about future 40nm desktop GPUs from NVIDIA coming out later this month was dead on. As of today, you can actually find a couple OEM video cards on NVIDIA's website. The two cards listed are the GeForce GT 220 and the GeForce G210. These are lower-end video cards that are not even likely to find their way into retail distribution since they are OEM graphics cards, but at least it shows signs of 40nm life over at NVIDIA.

If you want to enhance photos, edit videos, watch movies, play games, or if you simply desire a Premium Windows 7 Experience, the NVIDIA GeForce G210 graphics card brings impressive graphics processing power to your PC at an incredible value. Get all the video processing power that your digital lifestyle requires. Enhance photos, clean up home videos and post them to Facebook up to 50% faster with the GeForce G210. Convert your video and put it on your iPod in minutes instead of hours or make your DVDs look like HD. Does your PC have a CPU powerful enough to playback high definition Blu-Ray Movies? It doesnt matter, the GeForce G210 can playback any Blu Ray Movie with any modern CPU.
Kingston Responds To Our Question on Elpida ‘Hyper’ ICs
We contacted Kingston Technology for a statement today about their kits that use Elipda 'Hyper' memory ICs. They didn't have much to say on it because it's such a non-issue to them. Kingston backs all their modules with a lifetime warranty and if their memory kits fail for any reason under the warranty they will cover it. This is very different than how Corsair is handling the situation, as they basically recalled their entire DOMINATOR GT series like we reported last night.
The enthusiast DRAM problems some customers are encountering are nothing more than a typical issue that Kingston encounters from time to time and resolves through its normal customer service process. As such, this matter doesn't merit any special attention or consideration.
Sony VRD-MC6 Transfers Home Vids To DVD Sans PC
It’s sort of hard to believe that devices like this are still needed/wanted in today’s age of flash storage, but we guess there are always a few hanging back rather than staying caught up. Thus, Sony has introduced for them the multi-function DVDDirect DVD recorder, which can transfer both high-definition and standard-definition home videos and digital photos to DVD discs without using a computer. There’s no denying that this thing is mighty convienient. Removing the PC from the transfer equation will certainly
