MSI Details Its Twin Frozr Cooling System

Heat is always a concern for any power system builder. To help meet the thermal dissipation demands of power users, MSI introduced its Twin Frozr thermal design. We originally learned about the Twin Frozr cooling system when it was first introduced with the N285GTX SuperPipe in March. Now, MSI is pushing the cooling system into the spotlight again by calling it one of the best designs available on the market today. According to MSI, what makes the Twin Frozr so special is its combination of fans, base, and heatpipes.

Sans Digital definitely isn’t a household name in the NAS / external storage industry, but the outfit’s latest devices are definitely sharp. So sharp, in fact, that we could see them giving the latest from LaCie a run for the design dollars. This week, the company expanded its TowerRAID series by adding mini-SAS interfaces. The TowerRAID TR4X / TR4X-B is a 4-bay tower with a single mini-SAS connection, while the TR8X / TR8X-B is an 8-bay tower with two mini-SAS connectors. Both units are fully compatible with

WEPC Site Crowd-Sourcing Your Next Notebook

When was the last time a major OEM reached out to you and asked for direct, personal input on what you’d like to see in an upcoming notebook or netbook product?  Chances are your response is something to the effect of “never” or not since the day they started using them fancy LCDs versus the port-hole sized monochrome tubes you were playing Leisure Suit Larry on.You might have noticed, seeing as there are just a few ad banners in rotation beckoning you to the site, that a few of us here at

Intel CEO Voices Positivity About Future Sales

Good news for Intel, chip makers, PC manufacturers and the economy at large: Intel’s CEO is seemingly upbeat about the industry, and recently stated that things were “so far, so good” in Q2. The comment came from the top man Paul Otellini, where we was addressing analysts during a conference call this week. Specifically, he noted that chip orders have been “a little better than expected,” and compared to how rough Q1 was, this news is even more wonderful to hear. Mr. Otellini also proclaimed that he stood by

Ultimately, we found that Intel’s X25-M series of drives was the

Super Talent’s UltraDrive SSD Performance Tool

We’re not quite sure what to read into this, but Super Talent has quietly issued a firmware update that sounds an awful lot like the update Intel issued around this time last month. Surely you remember that, right? Essentially, Intel’s otherwise fantastic X-25M and X-18M solid state drives were shown to degrade with time under very specific circumstances, though a fix issued by the company supposedly took care of that possibility.Today, Super Talent — a notable SSD manufacturer — has announced that its line
