Microsoft Intros Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

When Windows Vista was nearing launch, Microsoft offered an Upgrade Advisor program. Wanting to be sure to repeat the past (except, of course, for Windows Vista’s poor adoption rate), Microsoft has released a beta version of a Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. It doesn’t go into the same amount of detail that the Windows Vista Advisor does, which would recommend a specific version of Windows Vista. It’s not like there’s going to be a dearth of Windows 7 versions, though. Here’s how Microsoft describes the program:

NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 2.2 Released

Today, NVIDIA released version 2.2 of the CUDA Toolkit and SDK for accessing the massively parallel CUDA compute architecture of NVIDIA GPUs. This latest release supports several significant new features that deliver a major leap forward in getting the most performance out of NVIDIA's massively parallel CUDA-enabled GPUs. In addition, version 2.2 of the CUDA Toolkit includes support for Windows 7, the upcoming OS from Microsoft that embraces GPU Computing.

The most common step in tuning application performance is profiling the application and then modifying the code. The CUDA Visual Profiler is a graphical tool that enables the profiling of C applications running on the GPU. This latest release of the CUDA Visual Profiler includes metrics for memory transactions, giving developers visibility into one of the most important areas they can tune to get better performance.

New Search Engine Scoopler Searches in Real Time

As instantaneous as the Web can be, most search engines–Google included–suffer from a bit of a time lag. The search engines can only link to pages and sites that the search engines have scraped with their Web crawlers or spiders and other indexing tools. This means that the latest entries on the quick-changing-content sites like Twitter or Digg won’t be searchable via Google or other similar search engines until well after the content has already been replaced with even newer entries. Where Google leaves off,

Asus Livens Up Eee PC Line With Seashell 1008HA

In fact, we’d say it could be sold on its own — it’s just a different breed of Eee entirely. The miniature notebook weighs in at 1.1kg (2.42 pounds) and includes a 10″ display, ergonomically designed keyboard,
