It’s not like Hitachi Displays really needs any bad news considering just how poorly LCD sales are going right now, but regardless of that, it’s still facing a fine that none of us would be fond of facing. The Japanese electronics manufacturer has just agreed (begrudgingly we’re sure) to pay a staggering $31 million fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices in the sale of TFT-LCD panels sold to Dell, Inc. The United States Department of Justice made the proclamation, and details show that Hitachi has plead

While AMD’s dedicated chip sales may be sagging, the company has still found reason to celebrate. With the success of the Wii comes the inevitable success of AMD, at least in small part. Today, Advanced Micro Devices proudly announced that the 50 millionth ATI ‘Hollywood’ graphics processor has shipped from Nintendo today, and if you’re having difficulty piecing this all together, ‘Hollywood’ is the GPU housed with the Wii gaming console. With this milestone shipment, ‘Hollywood’ has become the most successful
The New iPod Shuffle Speaks!
Apple has just announced its new third-generation iPod shuffle, which the company claims is “the world’s smallest music player.” The new iPod shuffle is almost half the size of the previous generation iPod shuffle, measuring a scant 1.8×0.7×0.3-inches (HWD) and weighing only 0.38 ounces. What makes this new iPod truly unique, however, is not just its size, but also that it actually talks to you in any one of 14 languages using text-to-speech capabilities that Apple calls “VoiceOver.” VoiceOver is Apple’s

Chinese Hackers Crack iTunes Gift Card Algorithm
Expect this to be fixed as quickly as Apple can manage it, but according to reports Chinese hackers (those enterprising guys) have cracked the algorithm behind the codes on iTunes gift cards, and are offering up $200 gift cards for $2.60. Interestingly, these same sorts of $200 deals are showing up on eBay, though not at quite the same bargain basement price. We did find a completed auction for $61 for a $200 card, though. Here’s what Outdustry found out: There are thousands of cards for sale at the same time.
Infinite SMS Becomes Finite, After All
Well, it was too good to last. Infinite SMS, the iPhone app which offered an infinite number of SMS messages by utilizing the SMS chat feature of Google Talk, is no more, as Google has closed off those APIs from third-party developers. To be clear, Google’s free SMS feature isn’t gone. They’ve only blocked non-Google apps like Infinite SMS from utilizing it via any APIs. Free text messages through the Gmail web interface, which we’ve written about previously, still work fine. Here’s the statement from Google,

Many people often postpone or even never get around to creating a living will or a last will and testament. For those that do, their concerns are usually focused on their quality of life, assigning guardianship for their children, and designating beneficiaries for their assets. That covers what to do when you are on life support, what happens to the
