Super Bowl Broadcast Momentarily Shows Porn

Some Comcast customers in Tucson, Arizona, who were watching the Super Bowl last night, received a very unexpected program interruption during the last few minutes of the game. Just moments after Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald scored a touchdown that momentarily gave the Cardinals a 23-20 lead with 2:37 left on the clock, the broadcast suddenly switched from the Super Bowl to a scene from a pornographic movie–including full-frontal, male nudity–for about 30 seconds, before the broadcast returned

Porn Interrupts Superbowl TV Coverage

Super Bowl viewers in Tucson, AZ, got bonus coverage at a pivotal point in last night's game when when cable provider Comcast showed a short and extremely graphic porn clip during the final moments of the game. Comcast said they were investigating the incident.

Comcast spokeswoman Tracy Baumgartner confirmed that the company's standard feed was interrupted during the Super Bowl, although she said its high definition feed was not.

Baumgartner said engineers were investigating Sunday night.

Tucson media outlets reported that they received calls from irate viewers about the pornographic material.

Netflix Hints at Streaming Premium HBO Content

Netflix recently sent a survey to some of its customers asking if they would be willing to “pay an additional $9.99 per month” to “watch HBO original series and movies streamed from the Internet to your computer or TV.” As this was a survey designed to gauge potential customer interest, there is no definitive indication as to whether Netflix will in fact offer such a premium service. Current Netflix customers who subscribe to any of Netflix’s unlimited plans can also watch unlimited streaming movies using the

Qimonda insolvency improves oversupply-driven downturn; DRAM spot prices up

DRAM spot prices have trended upwards since Qimonda filed for bankruptcy last week. The German DRAM maker's insolvency announcement is expected to reduce supply growth, helping to stabilize pricing and mitigate the oversupply-driven downturn.

“Qimonda's insolvency will have little immediate impact on the current oversupply situation in the DRAM market, since the company holds a small share of global production,” said Nam Hyung Kim, director and chief analyst, memory, for iSuppli. “However, for the full year of 2009, Qimonda's insolvency means global DRAM bit shipment growth is now expected to be less than the 30% level, down from iSuppli's previous forecast of 35%.”

February 2 News from Around the Web

ASUS HD 4850 MATRIX HTDI 512M A Review @ motherboards.org and other reviews from around the web can be found by visiting our forums!

The positives of this card include an excellent cooling solution that doesn't quit and keeps the card running cool. Under load temperatures of 44C maximum at default clock speeds is just amazing. The card overclocked successfully to near the maximum allowed by the Overdrive utility or the ASUS iTracker utility. The card is very popular among enthusiasts as it offers high performance at a reasonable price. The only questions I have as to this card is what the next generation from both NVIDIA and ATI will bring later this year as its over 6 months since the launch of the HD 4870 cards. ATI tends to release new graphics cards every year and the next generation shouldn't be too far away. ASUS's design works well within the confines the HD 4850 set.
