CES 2009: Kingston SSDs, HyperX Memory and Video SDHC Cards

The marketing team over at Kingston sent over a link to a demo video on Youtube.com for a preview of what they will be showing off at CES later this week. It looks like they will have a 3GB DDR3 triple channel HyperX memory kit that runs at 2133MHz and a desktop system that will be running an amazing 24GB of Kingston ValueRAM at 1066MHz. AMD has been fighting an uphill battle on two fronts for the last few years. Microsoft to Offer Free Upgrades for Vista
With the imminent release of Windows 7 Beta, reports are starting to surface saying that Microsoft will offer free or discounted Windows 7 upgrades to users who buy Vista PCs after July 1. According to some, we could see Window 7 Beta trials as early as next week at the MSDN Developer Conference.
Upgrades will be available from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium, and from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate, said TechARP. Buyers of PCs equipped with Vista Business will be able to upgrade to a Windows 7 Professional.
Next-Generation HDMI Announced
HDMI Licensing, LLC, the agency responsible for licensing the High-Definition Multimedia Interface – or HDMI – announced today the specifications for their next-generation HDMI standard. The new HDMI standard will add networking, higher speeds, and HD for your car.
“HDMI has reached an installed base of more than 600 million devices and now touches almost every consumer device that plays HD content. We want to give the industry a preview of where the HDMI specification is headed as we continue to innovate and meet the needs of this dynamic marketplace,” said Steve Venuti, president of HDMI Licensing, LLC.
