Yahoo! Projects Doubling Of Cash Flow In 3 Years

Yahoo! has released an investor presentation that outlines the company’s long-term financial plan. According to their press release, this financial plan was generated before Yahoo! received a hostile takeover bid from Microsoft. You’ll forgive me if I have my doubts about that. Because unless Yahoo! cures cancer or has a secret unicorn farm somewhere, I can’t see how this projection of revenues is anything but wishful thinking. Wishing for a higher bid from Microsoft, that is.The presentation supports the unanimous

100,000 Customers Tell Microsoft to Save XP

Many, many people have said that Windows XP is just fine, and while Vista’s great (DX10 comes to mind), it’s not necessary for most.  Can an outcry of public sentiment save XP?Windows Vista was supposed to be a shot in the arm for Microsoft, which had gone five years without a new desktop operating system. It hasn’t worked out that way. Instead, Vista sales have been slower than XP’s (when adjusted for market size) and there’s been a distinct lack of passion for the new OS. Kingston Technology Releases 800MHz FB-DIMMs

Kingston has just launched a family of 800MHz FB-DIMM memory modules, ranging in capacity from 512MB to 4GB, that are ideal for servers and high-performance workstations. Kingston is first rolling out industry standard ValueRAM FB-DIMMs, but has hinted that high-performance kits might be out in the near future. The kit with 2 x 2GB modules (KVR800D2D4F5K2/4G) offers a total memory density of 4GB with a MSRP of $260. Kingston is doing a $13 instant rebate on the kit right now which brings the price down to $247 plus shipping!

Today's dual XEON systems using the new 1600MHz front-side bus quad-core processors demand a robust memory solution to match processor bandwidth with
memory bandwidth,” said Louis Kaneshiro, senior technology manager, Kingston. “Our 800MHz FB-DIMMs deliver the blazing performance and reliability required
by high performance servers and workstations.” Delivering up to 25.6 GB/s bandwidth with four memory channels active, Kingston 800MHz FB-DIMMs match the
bandwidth needs of the latest XEON processors. The 2GB and 4GB 800MHz FB-DIMMs enable a flexible upgrade path while leaving plenty of headroom for future RAM expansion.

Hi, I’m A Mac. Your Brand Isn’t As Cool As Mine

The battle between Microsoft and Apple may have caused Microsoft to lose some of its luster in the global brand rankings.  The Redmond giant has slipped from number 11 to number 59 over the past three years.”The effect of Apple’s ‘Hi, I’m a Mac’ advertising campaign may have taken its toll on Microsoft,” CoreBrand CEO James Gregory said in a statement. “The launch of a series of new products, following a long, relatively dormant period, will be closely watched to see if it will have a positive impact on

Limewire: Let’s Pay For Bands You Never Heard Of

Limewire, the file sharing service where I’d be shocked, shocked I say to find pirated music, has launched a DRM-free digital music store offering half a million MP3s for as little as 27 cents per track. The good news? Pretty good sound quality and no restrictions. The bad news? You never heard of anybody on the list of artists.Users of the application will eventually see “buy” links alongside options to download songs for free from other users using BitTorrent or Gnutella technology. Those who don’t want to
