Model\" width=\"252\" height=\"235\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>The first \u201cProject Pink\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2008\/12\/15\/rumblings-project-pink-and-zune-mobile\/\">murmurings<\/a> began in 2008.\u00a0 At the time, there was little consensus regarding this upcoming smartphone (or family of smartphones) other than A) the OS would be based on Windows Mobile and B) there would be some manner of Zune-inspired media software onboard.\u00a0 In fact, the term \u201cZune Phone\u201d was, for a short time, synonymous with \u201cProject Pink.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">By early 2009, Pink faded to gray, and after CES 2009 yielded nothing but Zune Phone denials and an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2009\/02\/16\/windows-mobile-65-a-quick-introduction\/\">interim-version Windows Mobile announcement<\/a>, there wasn\u2019t much in the way of fresh Project Pink news.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">But now, eight months later, the rumor mill is churning again.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Gizmodo recently <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5366263\/the-pink-phone-pictures-microsoft-doesnt-want-you-to-see-yet\" >posted<\/a> renderings of two phones purportedly being baked in the Project Pink oven.\u00a0 The phones, code-named \u201cTurtle\u201d (seen above) and \u201cPure\u201d will supposedly be released under joint Microsoft and Sharp branding (Sharp has built several Sidekick phones for Danger, Inc., which Microsoft acquired in early 2008) and will be aimed at the same target market as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:Sidekick3.gif\" >T-Mobile\u2019s Sidekick<\/a> line (younger text, social networking and multimedia-heavy users).<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Newly-posted information at MoDaCo gives us more in-depth speculation on Pink.\u00a0 In a posting entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.modaco.com\/content\/windows-mobile-news\/293319\/the-truth-about-microsofts-project-pink\/\" >\u201cThe Truth About Microsoft\u2019s Project \u2018Pink\u2019\u201d<\/a> Turtle and Pure are said to run a variant of Windows Mobile 7, but with a Silverlight-based UI that looks little or nothing like WM.\u00a0 Media software similar to that which runs on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2009\/09\/15\/microsofts-zune-hd-now-available\/\">Zune HD<\/a> is also said to be included, as is XBox integration.\u00a0 The post goes on to say that \u201cTurtle\u201d and \u201cPure\u201d will feature 5MP and 8MP cameras, respectively, and include an unnamed \u201cground breaking\u201d display that will \u201cblow everyone away.\u201d\u00a0 Technology recovered from Roswell, perhaps?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">None of this information can be confirmed;
