The <a href=\"http:\/\/pocketpccentral.net\/device_menus\/windows_phone.htm\">first handsets<\/a> powered by the new mobile OS won\u2019t be available for purchase until early next month, but some reviewers have gotten their hands on final hardware and the first round of reviews has begun.&#160; <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Here\u2019s a brief summary:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><u>Walt Mossberg:<\/u><\/strong> WP7 is innovative, but not particularly compelling for most users.&#160; Mr. Mossberg is concerned about the relatively small library of apps, lack of basic features like copy-and-paste and tethering, but thinks things will improve over time.&#160; [<a href=\"http:\/\/ptech.allthingsd.com\/20101020\/microsofts-new-windows-phone-7-novel-but-lacking\/\">Full Review<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><u><strong>Engadget \/ Joshua Topolsky:<\/strong><\/u> Fast and responsive, Windows Phone 7 offers a beautiful and usable UI.&#160; Great soft keyboard.&#160; Built-in Office support \u201cone of the biggest differentiators\u201d of WP7. \u201c[T]here&#8217;s a lot to like or even love in WP7,\u201d but it\u2019s \u201cnot there yet.\u201d&#160; [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2010\/10\/20\/windows-phone-7-review\/\">Full Review<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><u><strong>Paul Thurrott:<\/strong><\/u> Without question the most glowing review, Mr. Thurrott (who has written <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0470886595?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=palmsizepccentra&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0470886595\">a book on Windows Phone 7<\/a>) believes the new OS is a \u201cgame changer\u201d that will help set the course for future smartphones.&#160;
