If so, Why?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 12px 10px 5px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"HTC Thunderbolt Verizon Wireless LTE Android Smartphone\" border=\"0\" alt=\"HTC Thunderbolt Verizon Wireless LTE Android Smartphone\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/main11.jpg\" width=\"190\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/pocketpccentral.net\/smartphone\/android\/verizon\/htc_thunderbolt.htm\">HTC Thunderbolt<\/a> has been the focus of lots of Verizon Android fans\u2019 attention these last few months as they\u2019ve patiently waited for its release.&#160; The LTE-equipped smartphone was originally thought to be shipping alongside the <a href=\"http:\/\/pocketpccentral.net\/tablets\/android\/motorola\/xoom_verizon.htm\">Motorola XOOM<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2011\/02\/05\/lte-equipped-htc-thunderbolt-to-hit-verizon-february-14th\/\">February 14th<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">When the XOOM launch came and went, reports surfaced that the Thunderbolt would arrive in late February.&#160; But this is the last day of the month, and still there have been no announcements.&#160; Why?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Apparently, the first LTE Android phone from Verizon has been plagued with terrible battery life, and the folks at the carrier and HTC are working on a firmware update to address the issue.&#160; While Engadget is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2011\/02\/25\/htc-thunderbolt-said-to-have-terrible-battery-life-might-explai\/\">reporting<\/a> that multiple sources have confirmed that this is, indeed, the cause of the push back, others <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phonearena.com\/news\/HTC-ThunderBolt-delayed-to-maximize-Verizon-iPhone-4-sales_id16738\">believe<\/a> the phone has been purposely delayed to help <a href=\"http:\/\/informationweek.com\/blog\/main\/archives\/2011\/02\/verizon_iphone_2.html;jsessionid=5WZROFZRPFM0RQE1GHPSKH4ATMY32JVN\">reportedly disappointing<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/iphone\/products\/verizon_iphone4.htm\">Verizon iPhone 4<\/a> sales.&#160; Verizon is rightly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/smartphones-in-charlotte\/verizon-no-release-date-has-ever-been-released-for-the-htc-thunderbolt-rb\">stating<\/a> that \u201cno release date has ever been released\u201d for the Thunderbolt, but has made no comment regarding delays.&#160; <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">So, now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gottabemobile.com\/2011\/02\/24\/htc-thunderbolt-delayed-until-march-4\/\">the word<\/a> is that March 4th is the day for the HTC Thunderbolt.&#160; We\u2019ll see.&#160; If the March 4th date holds, this would seem to support the cynical theory that the issue isn\u2019t one of hardware or software, while a longer delay would suggest bigger problems.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">We\u2019ll keep you updated on the latest rumors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The HTC Thunderbolt has been the focus of lots of Verizon Android fans\u2019 attention these last few months as they\u2019ve patiently waited for its release.&#160; The LTE-equipped smartphone was originally thought to be shipping alongside the Motorola XOOM on February 14th.
