{"id":12838,"date":"2011-03-10T13:17:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T17:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2011\/03\/10\/nodo-before-april-1\/"},"modified":"2011-03-10T13:17:00","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T17:17:00","slug":"windows-phone-7-%e2%80%9cnodo%e2%80%9d-update-by-april-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/computerhunter.us\/?p=12838","title":{"rendered":"Windows Phone 7 \u201cNoDo\u201d Update by April 1?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 14px 15px 11px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/nodo.jpg\" width=\"232\" height=\"253\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pocketpccentral.net\/device_menus\/windows_phone.htm\">Windows Phone 7<\/a> users <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/2011\/02\/15\/windows-phone-7-update-madness\/\">have been waiting<\/a> four months (and counting) for the first update to their phones\u2019 OS, all presumably hoping not to make it to five.&#160; And if a new piece of information proves correct, Microsoft <em>will<\/em> release that update just before the five month mark \u2013 by the end of March.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Microsoft news maven Mary-Joe Foley <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/blog\/microsoft\/microsoft-france-says-windows-phone-7-nodo-to-arrive-in-the-second-half-of-march\/8888\">reports<\/a> that&#160; French web site <a href=\"http:\/\/windowsphone.frogz.fr\/post\/2011\/03\/09\/Officiel-Mise-a-jour-NoDo-en-video-et-date-de-disponibilite.aspx\">FRogz.fr<\/a> believes the first Windows Phone 7 update \u2013 aka NoDo \u2013 will be made available to users sometime in the second half of this month.&#160; Her own sources confirm, saying that a day in the week of March 21st is the latest target date.&#160; <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Of course, if March passes without NoDo, it won\u2019t come as much of a surprise to users who\u2019ve been anxiously awaiting copy\/paste, improved Marketplace searches and general fixes since late October; several reported release dates have come and gone \u2013 the latest being <a href=\"http:\/\/windowsphonesecrets.com\/2011\/03\/09\/still-no-update\/\">March 8th<\/a> \u2013 without so much as a transmitted byte.&#160;&#160; <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">But Microsoft is facing a bit of a brick wall here, as Verizon and Sprint are expected to release Windows Phones <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketpccentral.net\/newscenter\/?s=cdma+and+windows+phone\">soon<\/a>, and NoDo is reportedly required for CDMA compatibility.<\/p>\n<p>Considering Windows Phone up \u2018til now, though, wouldn\u2019t it be fitting if the update arrived on April 1st?&#160; <em>Just sayin\u2019\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Windows Phone 7 users have been waiting four months (and counting) for the first update to their phones\u2019 OS, all presumably hoping not to make it to five.&#160; And if a new piece of information proves correct, Microsoft will release that update just before the five month mark \u2013 by the end of March.
