Mozilla has just released the first beta of Fennec<\/a>, a mobile version of the company\u2019s popular Firefox web browser. The new beta isn\u2019t Windows Mobile-ready quite yet, but its arrival only one month after the pre-alpha<\/a> shows that Mozilla is moving forward at breakneck speeds to update and release their new mobile web solution.<\/p>\nFennec v1.0b1 (beta 1) is chock-full of improvements, including faster panning, zooming and application start time, support for plug-ins, and the addition of TraceMonkey, a JavaScript engine.<\/p>\nAt present, beta 1 of Fennec is only available for the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet<\/a>, but if you\u2019re anxious to see what you can expect from Firefox Mobile, you can also download<\/a> a Windows version and take a test drive.<\/p>\n\n<\/embed><\/object><\/div>\n<\/div>\nThere\u2019s no word yet on when we can expect to see a Fennec beta for Windows Mobile, but we\u2019re (of course) hoping that it\u2019s sooner rather than later. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\nMozilla has just released the first beta of Fennec, a mobile version of the company\u2019s popular Firefox web browser.
