Further uniting the Internet with mobile phones and computers, Intel Corporation and Nokia today announced a long-term relationship to develop a new class of Intel Architecture-based mobile computing device and chipset architectures which will combine the performance of powerful computers with high-bandwidth mobile broadband communications and ubiquitous Internet connectivity. This is clearly big news as it is not every day someone says they are coming up with a new “platform” for mobile products beyond existing smart phones, netbooks and notebook computers. Part of the deal is that Intel can now license Nokia's 3G HSPA technology, which could conceivably be combined with Intel's existing PC chipsets.<\/p>\n
