The next-generation Eee PC is due to hit shore shelves on May 12th and carry a price tag of $549, a rather modest hike over current models which top out at $499 for the 8GB SSD/1GB RAM model.  So what does the extra $50 buy? Quite a lot actually: “The Linux version of the Eee PC will come with a 4GB SSD + an additional 16GB internal flash module for a total of 20GB of storage space.  The Windows XP model — due to the licensing fees associated with Windows — will only feature an internal flash module
