“The biggest problems with running multiple monitors in the past has been configuring them to your exact desires, and that issue has the potential to become even more painful when you start talking about stacking up six displays. With that in mind, AMD have put some not inconsiderable effort into making configuring multiple monitors as simple as possible within Catalyst Control Center to bring users that seamless operation we just spoke of. To do this, more basic functionality such as cloning or extending desktops is of course supported as with any multiple display setup, but AMD also allows you to create “display groups” – A single surface or desktop which spans across multiple displays which basically turns a number of physical monitors into a single “logical” monitor as far as the Operating System (be it Windows 7, Vista or under Linux) is concerned. You can then use this display group or single surface for anything that you'd do with a normal physical monitor, from gaming
through to video playback and onto normal desktop application usage.”
