When Windows Mobile 6.5 officially launches next Tuesday, Verizon Wireless will also begin selling their first smartphone running the new OS. That phone, the HTC Imagio, will replace the current Verizon Touch Diamond.
The HTC Imagio features a large 3.6-inch touchscreen display, and an antenna which doubles as a kickstand; this double-duty antenna will allow the handset to work with VCAST, a mobile TV service from Verizon that’s $15 per month.
The Imagio will also feature an updated version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D Windows Mobile UI replacement with updated social networking capabilities.
You’ll be able to purchase the HTC Imagio on October 6 for $199 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Initial sales will be available only through the Verizon Wireless web store with retail location availability to follow on or around October 20.
