PhoneNews.com is reporting that a memory use issue is at the heart of the successive delays which have plagued the upcoming Sprint Treo Pro Windows Mobile smartphone. According to the site, the Sprint version of the Palm Treo Pro is not “seeing” all of the available system memory (RAM), which is slowing down the handheld’s performance.
With the Treo Pro using only about 40MB of its RAM – it’s unclear whether the smartphone has 128MB or 256MB of RAM as there are conflicting reports – Palm and Sprint are working on a new software package, or ROM, which corrects the issue.
We expect (along with PhoneNews) the Sprint Treo Pro to begin shipping in mid March.
