Nvidia readies new MCP99 chipset for Intel Nehalem Processors

Nvidia is readying silicon that would work with Intel's newest processor design, according to a report. Intel claims Nvidia does not have the legal rights to make companion chips for its newest processors. According to a report on Chinese-language Technology Web site HKEPC, Nvidia is planning to bring out a MCP99 chipset that supports Nehalem processors and Intel's Direct Media Interface, or DMI. Nvidia cited DMI back in February as a technology that Intel was trying to prevent it from using.

Intel said the matter is being left to the courts. “We tried many times to resolve the conflict but we couldn't resolve it. So we asked the courts to,” said Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy. “By the time something comes to market, hopefully we'll have some resolution,” Mulloy said.

Nvidia 40nm GeForce 210 GPU to hit channel in October

Nvidia's new 40nm GeForce 210 (GT218) GPU-based graphics cards will be available in the retail channel in October, as yield of the 40nm process at foundry partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has improved, according to industry sources. The GeForce 210 graphics cards will feature either DDR2 or DDR3 memory, and support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1.

In addition to GeForce 210, Nvidia is also expected to launch GPUs codenamed GT230 and GT300 in the fourth quarter of 2009, the sources said. Nvidia has recently adjusted its GPU naming scheme and removed marks such as GTX, GT and G, and will instead just simply use GeForce plus the number. Shipments of AMD's long-awaited RV870 GPU are expected to kick off in September at the earliest, the sources added.

ThermalTake Element G Review @ OCC and other reviews from around the web can be found by visiting our forums!

“What more can really be said about the Element G? This case has a lot going for it. It features space for a lot of hard drives and moves about as much air as anything else on the market. What gives it an edge over the competition is the amount of space dedicated to hard drives. I have yet to see another mid tower that can hold this many. There are also many optional accessories that you can put in the Element G, such as two optional 120mm fans in front and two 60mm fans in the real for VGA cooling. It also has great looking LED fans and the option to change between five color modes, which I found to be quite nifty.”
