Today, HDMI is a home theater mainstay, and a practical guarantee on any piece of new A/V equipment. We’re even seeing it pop up on lower-end notebooks these days, which certainly goes to show just how pervasive the format has become. This week, the HDMI Licensing group announced the next logical step in the protocol, with HDMI 1.4 being revealed. Sony’s PSP Go Handheld Breaks Cover

Welp, looks like Sony’s cat is sufficiently out of the bag. With E3 scheduled to get underway next week in California, Sony’s biggest secret for the show is a secret no more. Just hours ago, official images leaked of what will reportedly be called the “PSP go.” This new PlayStation Portable looks to be a smaller, more compact version of the existing PSP, and it looks as if it won’t have a rear UMD slot. What’s this mean for gamers? It probably means a cheaper PSP option, and it definitely means that more download-only

OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro: 500GB, Bus-Powered

Other World Computing’s Mercury line has been around for what feels like years now, and as far back as we can remember, the crew  has looked like this. The latest on-the-go storage solution is said to be able to hold up to 250 DVDs, half a billion photos or more MP3 than you’ll ever have time to listen to in this life.Officially called the

Dell profit falls 63 percent as PC sales stay soft

Dell said Thursday its fiscal first-quarter profit fell 63 percent as the recession continued to crimp computer sales around the world. The results, coupled with a cautious outlook from the world's top PC seller, Hewlett-Packard, indicate that the computer market has not improved much since last year's economic meltdown led to a holiday season that was the industry's worst stretch in six years.

Hewlett-Packard CEO Mark Hurd, has expressed similar caution. Speaking at an investor conference Thursday, Hurd would not say when he thought the PC market would begin to rebound. That is in contrast to Paul Otellini, the CEO of Intel, the world's biggest supplier of PC microprocessors, who has said sales already appear to have bottomed out and returned to normal seasonal patterns.

Palm Pre And Storm 2 Coming To Verizon Wireless

Wow — Sprint cannot be fond of this. Yesterday, Verizon Wireless’ CEO proudly stated that his company would be carrying the Palm Pre…just a week before it launches “exclusively” on Sprint. At CES, Palm announced that Sprint would be its one and only US launch partner for the Pre, and at the time, it seemed like a huge boon for Sprint.
