Palm Pre to Reach Best Buy on June 7th?

We’ve said before that releasing the Pre after WWDC, which takes place starting June 9th, would be a big mistake. Reinforcing a prior rumor that the Palm Pre would launch on June 7th is a new one, which states that Best Buy will have stock on June 8th.However, accoding to BGR, what Best Buy, Palm, and Sprint may call “stock” may be as few as one Pre per store, also known as “whoopee!”According to the report, Best Buy will be a limited set of Pre handsets for a “trial launch.”  There will be 4,500 units

We wrote earlier that Apple has called jailbreaking “illegal.” At the same time, however, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has filed comments with the Copyright Office asking for an exemption to the DMCA so that cell phone owners can unlock their phones (their “Free Your Phone” campaign), as well as be able to legally “jailbreak” their iPhones. On Friday, the Copyright Office held the first of its hearings in the triennial exemption process. Scheduled to appear was Apple Vice President of iPod and iPhone

Ex. 10,000,000 in Why SMS While Driving is Bad

If you need any proof that while some states have such laws, we should probably have a federal law against text messaging while driving (or maybe even some technology), here’s a great example. This bus driver, in San Antonio, TX, is trying to text, while driving disabled passengers to their destination. He pulls the phone out, and starts texting, and boom: right into the rear of another car. Fortunately, it was all captured on tape, and the guy has lost his job. Let’s hope he doesn’t get another one driving

MacBook Air Owner Gets “Unhinged”

The MacBook Air is sort of an “edgy” laptop, but in this case an owner frustrated with Apple’s handling of the much-publicized Rev. A MacBook Air hinge problems, has decided to take a knife to the beast. According to “Haurum,” who posted the video on YouTube, the MacBook Air sucks … so don’t buy one. In the video he indicates that he and six of this friends who also own the slim, highly desired laptop (although he calls it a piece of crap, instead), all have had the broken hinge problem noted above.
