It’s no shock to anyone even remotely up to speed on popular culture that YouTube is big. Really big, in fact. But even big can get bigger, as evidenced by a recent press release pushed out by comScore. For the first time in a single month, YouTube had over 100 million US viewers, with the online video portal securing a staggering 91 percent share of all videos watched online during the month of January 2009. More specifically, some 14.8 billion online videos were watched by Americans, which was up 4 percent
Asus Get Stylish With U And UX Series Notebooks
Asus has been exceptionally busy this week at CeBIT, announcing everything from new notebooks to new monitors to new concepts. Two laptop lines that have still been under wraps until now, however, are the U and UX Series. As with most of the other small Asus machines coming out these days, these families are also highly stylized, hoping to catch the ever wandering eye of the consumer with sexy lines, thin bodies and flashy specification sheets.In fact, Asus itself proclaims that each of these new lines were
Fox To Strip Special Features Out of Rental DVDs
As DVD movie sales continue to slowly dry up, some motion picture distribution companies are looking to make up lost revenue from other mediums, such as from Blu-ray movie disc sales and distribution deals with online media-streaming services, such as Netlfix, Vudu, and the recently announced ZillionTV. Blu-ray isn’t anywhere as successful as the industry had hoped, and online streaming is a nascent business that is still just getting its financial feet wet. So, perhaps, desperate times call for desperate measures;
Circuit City to Close Early
It appears that Circuit City’s liquidation sales have been successful. So successful, in fact, that the stores are running out of inventory sooner than expected. As a result, liquidators have announced that all of the chain’s remaining stores will close this Sunday. The shutdowns come about a week ahead of schedule, and two weeks earlier than originally planned. Even after the stores close, there’s still a lot to be done, however. The company’s wind-down process is expected to last two years while crews liquidate
AMD Factory Spinoff Now Operating as Globalfoundries
Globalfoundries, an Advanced Micro Devices spinoff, is working to stand out among the competition by focusing on a sophisticated manufacturing process. The company, which still is 35% owned by AMD, also has plans to build a $4.2 billion manufacturing complex in New York.
The spinning off of its manufacturing capacity with an immediate cash injection of $1.4bn from an investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government is aimed at giving AMD a fresh start as a fab-less chip designer and Globalfoundries a fighting chance of competing with other contract manufacturers.

U.S. Population Radiation Exposure On The Rise
The National Council on Radiation Protection & Measurements (NCRP) released a report that states that the average effective radiation dose individuals in the U.S. have received in 2006 has increased about 1.7-times since the early 1980s (from 3.6 mSv to 6.2 mSv)*. Contrary to what many might think, however, this almost doubling in radiation exposure does not come from the increased use of consumer electronics devices or from the increase in the number of devices that utilize radio frequencies, such as mobile
A-DATA Shows Off DDR3-2133 CL7 Memory at 1.6V
A-DATA Technology is showcasing its leading triple channel module in the industry at CeBIT 2009 in Hannover, Germany, the XPG X series DDR3-2133X v2.0 2GB x 3 triple channel module, by adopting 1.6V to demonstrate its 2133MHz killer speed and cas latency at 7.

By adopting 1.56V, the XPG X series DDR3-2133X v2.0 triple channel module is able to demonstrate its high speed at 2000MHz CL7. Moreover, by adopting 1.6V, its able to demonstrate its killer speed at 21330MHz CL8, to demostrate the XPG X series DDR3-2133X v2.0 triple channel module is a leading triple channel module in the industry again. The XPG X series DDR3-2133X v2.0 triple channel module is engineered with heavy aluminum heat spreaders and an additional dual-fan cooler, to keep the module operate in cool environment. A-DATA combined both methodology of heat dissipation to ensure the XPG X series DDR3-2133X v2.0 triple channel module able to operate over extended periods of usage.
