ZOTAC Intros Two New GeForce 9400GT Cards
Considering just how sluggish GPU sales have been and are expected to be throughout the first half of 2009, it makes sense to see ZOTAC aiming low. NVIDIA’s GeForce 9400GT is far from being the most powerful card on the block, but it’s close to being the cheapest acceptable one on the market today. To that end, ZOTAC is introducing today its GeForce 9400GT Synergy Edition 512MB and GeForce 9400GT DDR2 1GB. Both units are obviously powered by a GeForce 9400GT graphics processor and feature DirectX 10 and OpenGL
Did Apple Coerce Google to Skip Multi-touch?
If not for an Apple intervention, Google’s G1 Android smartphone may have been a little smarter. Many people have wondered why the G1 lacks multi-touch capabilities, even though the phone has been shown to be multi-touch capable. As a legal battle between Palm and Apple wages on over Palm’s use of multi-touch in its new Pre smartphone, more details are beginning to emerge about why Google may have chosen to overlook these capabilities. It’s no secret that Apple and Google have a bit of a relationship, considering
Intel to Invest $7 Billion in U.S. Manufacturing
Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini today announced the company would spend $7 billion over the next two years to build advanced manufacturing facilities in the United States. The investment funds deployment of Intel's industry-leading 32 nanometer (nm) manufacturing technology that will be used to build faster, smaller chips that consume less energy. Looks like Intel has done more than their fair share to stimulate the economy here in the Unites States!
“We're investing in America to keep Intel and our nation at the forefront of innovation,” Otellini said. “These manufacturing facilities will produce the most advanced computing technology in the world. The capabilities of our 32nm factories are truly extraordinary, and the chips they produce will become the basic building blocks of the digital world, generating economic returns far beyond our industry.” Intel's investment will be made at existing manufacturing sites in Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico and will support approximately 7,000 high-wage, high-skill jobs at those locations — part of a total Intel workforce of more than 45,000 in the U.S. Intel, while generating more than 75 percent of its sales overseas, carries out roughly 75 percent of its semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S. At the same time, about 75 percent of the company's R&D spending and capital investments are also made in the U.S.
Dell Launches the Ultra-Mobile Wasabi Printer
If you are old enough to remember Polaroid’s instant cameras, then the concept behind Dell’s new Wasabi PZ310 “ultra-mobile printer” will look very familiar to you. The Wasabi is a small printer that fits in the palm of your hand that can print color photos in less than a minute from digital cameras, mobile phones, and other mobile devices. The Wasabi uses a printing technology called ZINK, which stands for “Zero Ink.” As its name implies there is no ink involved in the printing process, and therefore no potentially

Antec Introduces New Form Factor with CP-850 Power Supply
Antec recently announced the CP-850, a high-performance power supply
featuring an entirely new form factor. Part of Antec's upcoming CP Series,
the CP-850 breaks away from the standard-size PS/2 form factor – which has
been the predominant form factor for nearly 20 years – to introduce improved
airflow, better component selection and quieter operation. The CP-850 and CP
Series are exclusively compatible with Antec's latest high-performance PC
cases. Legit Reviews spotted this power supply last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, so check out the link below for more exclusive pictures. The CP-850 is available at an estimated price of $149.95 through major
retailers, e-tailers and distributors.
The increasing number of performance hardware components has created a need
for high-wattage power supplies that can maintain stability at full-load.
The limitations of the PS/2 form factor have led to higher costs for
consumers and often wasteful energy consumption. Antec's 850-watt CP-850
presents an innovative solution that balances size, cost and quality power.
The CP-850's new “CPX” expanded form factor allows for better circuit board
layout, more room between components for airflow, and a straight-through air
path that takes full advantage of the large 120mm Pulse Width Modulation
(PWM) fan. The CPX form factor is thus able to provide quieter, cooler
operation in addition to the CP-850's preferred price-to-performance ratio.
Spansion Japan Files For Bankruptcy Protection
You may have never heard of Spansion, but we’d be willing to wager that you’ve heard of Fujitsu and Advanced Micro Devices. As it turns out, Spansion was jointly set up by AMD and Fujitsu, who own 8.7 percent and 11.4 percent of the company, respectively. Also of note, Spansion is the world’s largest maker of NOR-type flash memory with a market share of about 40 percent. Oh, and today its Japanese subsidiary is filing for bankruptcy protection.Just weeks after DRAM maker Qimonda waved the white flag, yet another
ZOTAC announces two new GeForce 9400GT Video Cards
ZOTAC International today announced two new entry-level graphics cards the new ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT Synergy Edition and GeForce 9400GT DDR2 1GB. Powered by a high-speed GeForce 9400GT graphics processor, the new ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT Synergy Edition and GeForce 9400GT DDR2 1GB deliver DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA CUDA processing power to entry-level users.
The new ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT Synergy Edition features a low-profile form factor, but offers performance similar to standard height ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT DDR2 graphics cards. The low profile form factor is ideal for small form factor systems with height limitations that prevent the installation of standard sized graphics cards. The ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT Synergy Edition ships as a standard height graphics card, however, two low-profile brackets are bundled to convert the card for use in low-profile systems. The new ZOTAC GeForce 9400GT DDR2 1GB pairs the GeForce 9400GT graphics processor with 1GB of DDR2 video memory for high-performance in the latest DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1 and CUDA games and applications.
