Not to be left out of the earth-friendly party, Hitachi is the latest hard drive manufacturer to go green. Hitachi recently announced the fourth-generation of its CinemaStar hard-drive family. The drive features Hitachi’s EcoTrac Classification, which means it is halogen-free and has very low power consumption. The new CinemaStar features a

Intel Delays Quad-Core Itanium To Add Features
Intel’s Itanium processor has been around for what feels like ages, but clearly the chip maker isn’t ready to retire the name and move on to something different just yet. We’ve just learned that the latest iteration of the Itanium, which has been codenamed Tukwila, won’t begin shipping as soon as previously expected. According to a company spokesman: The “RISC-based server processor was scheduled to ship early this year. However, Intel decided to push back the release by several months in order to add capabilities.

Cavalry Storage CAND3001T0 1TB Network Drive Review @ OCC and other reviews from around the web can be found by visiting our forums!
“The CAND3001T0 is an easy way to add shared storage to your network, as it comes with hard drives installed and preconfigured for use. For users wanting basic storage functionality with a minimum of fuss, the CAND3001T0 offers and additional 500GB of storage out of the box due to its RAID-1 factory configuration. I found the Web UI to be very basic and its use of fractured English to be mildly annoying at times and downright confusing at others. The interface seems more like a first attempt rather than a polished, completed product. The added features are where I had the most issues, from e-mail alerts that were too basic to be of any use, to the backup capability that left me wondering if maybe it should have been left out until an integrated working restore functionality could be included.”
Time Warner to Expand Bandwidth Caps
Last year, Time Warner Cable became the first major U.S. Internet service provider to charge customers depending on the amount of bandwidth they used each month. Although initially just a trial, the test in Beaumont, Texas apparently went so well that the company is looking to expand the test to four more undisclosed markets in order to better test the system’s ability to meter and bill accurately. Similar to the way in which cell phone providers give you a monthly allotment of minutes and charge extra for overage,
