Help a Veteran on Veterans Day
It’s important to remember all veterans on this Veterans Day, but it’s particularly necessary to remember those who have been injured while serving in the U.S. military. Operation Family Fund is a charity tirelessly dedicated to wounded soldiers, and one that uses 100% of its donations to help those in need.
There’s no money taken for staff, postage or any type of overhead. Every cent you donate to Operation Family Fund goes directly to those who need it most. If you can help this fantastic organization, it would be greatly appreciated.
Our deepest thanks to all who have served.

Will Purchased iTunes Music Play on My Android Smartphone?
Dan recently submitted a great question via email:
I have a new Android Droid … I also have an iPod and lots of purchased iTunes music. Any possibility of getting them on my Android so I can play them?
The short answer is yes, you can get your purchased iTunes music to play on Google Android devices, as well as Windows Mobile and BlackBerry smartphones. But depending on how long ago you bought the music and what type of file you’ve got on the hard drive, the process can be very simple or more complicated.

HTC Droid ERIS Android Phone to Debut Alongside Moto Droid
When Verizon opens its doors tomorrow, there won’t just be the Motorola Droid on the shelves; another Android smartphone with the Droid label will be right alongside: the HTC Droid ERIS.
With a price of $99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate, the ERIS will have the most affordable official carrier price of any Android smartphone in the U.S.
So what does that $100 savings over the Moto Droid translate to in terms of hardware?
The ERIS has a smaller, lower-resolution touchscreen, a slower CPU, and an included flash memory card with half the storage (8GB v the Motorola Droid’s 16GB). Plus, the ERIS doesn’t have a hardware QWERTY keyboard and ships with v1.5 of the Android OS.
Windows Mobile 6.5 Upgrade for the Samsung Jack Released
The first Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for a WM6.1 smartphone has been released. The upgrade is for AT&T’s Samsung Jack SGH-i637 and is available for download free of charge.
The installer flashes the ROM of the Jack with the new OS, so you’ll need to backup your data before the upgrade. Also, the update software is only recommended for 32-bit versions of Windows XP or Vista, so if you’ve already made the move to Windows 7, try to find another system to perform the upgrade.
